A quoi servent les Cookies ?
Les cookies ne sont pas un concept nouveau. Votre petit commerçant du coin chez qui vous allez régulièrement, apprend à vous connaitre et à se souvenir de vos habitudes : vos jours de visite, vos goûts, vos exigences. Il s‘empresse de vous satisfaire le plus rapidement possible quand vous venez.
C’est plus difficile dans les grandes surfaces. Il y a tellement de monde avec des habitudes différentes que c’est devenu impossible. On est passé aux cartes de fidélité qui, au moins, enregistrent le montant de vos achats et, pour les plus évoluées, ce que vous avez acheté.
Sur Internet, c’est la même chose. On enregistre vos habitudes : heures de visite, temps de visite, ce que vous êtes venu lire, etc. Ainsi, la fois prochaine, on facilite votre recherche en vous aiguillant plus directement vers ce qui vous intéresse et on vous montre ‘ce qui pourrait vous intéresser’.
Les cookies ont donc une utilité ‘commerciale’.
C’est quoi, les cookies ?
La seule différence avec les ‘cartes de fidélité’, c’est que l’information ’pour vous aider’ n’est plus enregistrée sur le site que vous visitez, mais sur votre propre ordinateur ! Ce ne prend plus de place chez ‘le commerçant’ et il n’a rien à gérer.
C’est votre problème et c’est chez vous que les cookies prennent de la place.
Rares sont les sites qui ne vous signalent pas : ‘Les cookies nous aident à mieux vous servir’ ou quelque chose de ce genre. Il n’y en n’a pas sur ‘votre blog’.
Mais, rassurez-vous. Votre navigateur internet et les moteurs de recherche vous déposent également des cookies et en enregistrent une grande quantité chez eux.
Cela me permet, entre autres, de savoir combien de personnes viennent me lire, à quelle fréquence, combien de temps ils restent, combien de pages ils lisent, et lesquelles en priorité.
Les cookies sont-ils dangereux ?
Difficile – et dangereux – de généraliser. Comme partout, il y a des gens honnêtes et d’autres qui le sont moins.
Un cookie, c’est ‘un œuf’ dont vous ignorez tout : le contenu, l’action et le moment de cette action. Rien n’empêche le site d’étudier ce que vous allez voir chez ‘les autres’ – ils pourraient soit lire les cookies des concurrents, soit enregistrer vos mouvements, grâce à vote navigateur qui garde son historique.
La question n’étant pas « si » vous allez héberger, sans le savoir, des ‘œufs pourris’, mais « depuis quand » ils ont été pondus et ce qu’ils ont déjà transmis comme informations sur vous. Comme quand votre voisin vous épie et note toutes vos entrées et sorties, avec qui, quand, comment, etc.
Un des dangers est également les intrusions dans votre ordinateur (logiciels malveillants, piratage, vol de l’ordinateur). On dispose de beaucoup d’informations sur vous que vous n’aimeriez sans doute pas voir exposées sur la place publique.
Que faire des cookies ?
Vous pouvez refuser les cookies. Votre navigateur internet le permet. Mais il y a des chances que votre visite de certains sites soit impossible ou difficile.
Vous pouvez accepter les cookies, les yeux fermés – en toute confiance. Mais devrait-on faire confiance à un inconnu, en permanence, pour tout ?
Il y a une troisième option : « faire une omelette ! » En d’autres mots, effacer régulièrement les cookies que votre ordinateur a accumulés. La manière la plus simple et la plus radicale, est de demander à votre navigateur internet de les effacer – avec l’historique – à la fin de chaque session.
Vous pouvez demander à un outil externe (comme CCleaner) de faire le travail régulièrement, avec un effacement ‘irrécupérable’.
A vous de voir si les cookies sur votre ordinateur sont aussi bonnes que les petites pâtisseries américaines. Et de décider comment vous les consommez.

Les transformer en omelette, je l’ai appris récemment puisque j’ai fait installé CCleaner sur mon ordinateur et c’est vrai que c’est un excellent nettoyeur. Très bon conseil que de le recommander.

Pour revenir sa ta dernière question… lorsque tu crées un document PDF, tu peux le ‘signer’ (il y a plusieurs options). La signature crée « un hash » sur l’ensemble : document + l’heure et la date + la signature. C’est donc une possibilité rapide.

Oui, les fenêtres intempestives s’ouvrent toujours. CCleaner vous permet de nettoyer les cookies – si vous le demandez quand vous quittez la navigation internet.
CCleaner vous donne les outils, mais il vous revient de les utiliser. Ce n’est pas une application miracle qui fait tout pour vous.
Cela n’existe pas car chaque utilisateur a ses besoins.

un puriste dirait qu’un cookie n’est pas un virus (voir Covid19) car il ne se reproduit pas dans l’ordinateur de la victime. C’est bien un spyware… et donc un « maliciel (ou malware) »
Malheureusement, de nombreux sites sont inutilisables sans accepter les cookies, même ceux des journaux quotidiens.
Il convient donc de n’accepter les cookies qu’à la demande (et pas aveuglément) et de paramétrer son navigateur pour effacer les cookies une fois la page fermée – ou de le faire à la fermeture du navigateur au moins une fois par jour.
